How bullying can effect people phiscally and emotionally

Hey guys, this post is going to be about how bullying can effect it's victims.

If you are being bullied or you know someone who is being bullied. These are the feelings:

  • Feeling anxious, depressed, lonely or insecure and crying a lot
  • Unable to concentrate in class
  • Feeling angry and wondering why you are being victimised
  • Feeling afraid to go to school
  • Having mood swings
  • The feelings are also forcing you to feel unhappy at school aswell
  • Feeling trapped and feeling like no one loves you
  • Notice that your health is suffering such as your appetite, difficult sleeping or tension headaches
All these symptons are caused by  physical, verbal and cyber bullying.
That's why we have projects like the semicolon project (as seen in the the previous post), the bullying project, Anti-bullying D&R project and loads more if you look out for them. See, there are many alternatives to assist you; so you are not along guys and it's not your fault :) stay strong!

The motto once again:

SPEAK OUT AND BE HEARD!

The semi-colon project

This organisation started online and the semicolon represents where the sentence could've ended but didn't, because depression, anxiety, self harm and suicide took over. The sentence is the life of depression, suicidal and unhappiness. Just as how suicide could've been prevented but wasn't. Bullying can lead to these very sad things above that's why bullying is linked to the semicolon project. Many students, people like me and you are drawing a semicolon on the wrist for this project. Some teachers and adults are even getting tattoos in support of the fight against suicide and depression in students. Did you know that three teens, like you and me, self harm every hour. Disappointing right? That's why we need to end this today!

This was the mission statement on Facebook "We are trying to raise awareness about self-harming. We are a group of people who listen to your stories and help you get through any tough time, answer and questions, and give as much advice as possible. Together we can get through everything."
From:  http://kisselpaso.com/what-is-the-semicolon-project/

Let's stop the self-harming, suicides and bullying. :)

How to stop bullying

Here is some advice if you are being bullied:

The motto:
SPEAK OUT AND BE HEARD!

The fact that you are being bullied shouldn't be kept in, you shouldn't be scared of them. Telling someone will help solve the problem quickly: you'll will be free of bullying!

It is often good to tell someone you trust, so this can be anyone, like:
  • Your Mum, Dad
  • Older sister or brother
  • Auntie, Uncle
  • A teacher
  • School councillor
Now you may be thinking these options are all adults however the alternative is that you can tell a close friend or someone else you are close to; this is so you can feel more comfortable :)

You can also talk to someone online or on the phone, their main focus is bullying so their ideas will help you a lot.

Visit these sites for this alternative:

Number: 0800 1111

Bullying UK:

Advise if you have witnessed bullying:

If you have recently witnessed bullying you should;

  • Go and tell someone you trust about what you have witnessed
  • You can remain anonymous and tell the person you've told to not mention your name
  • If you see bullying in the classroom/ playground tell a teacher/ TA/ or  the school councillor immediately
  • If you are seeing the person getting bullied, talk to them and make friends that will put a smile on their face :)

If you are the BULLY:
  • Think carefully about the person you are hurting and how it affects them; imagine YOU in their shoes
  • Reconsider about what you are doing; don't give into peer pressure. If your friends are forcing you to do things you don't want to do, think about if they're your real friends

Real life stories

Have been told, bullying can be done in different ways:
  • Cyber bullying
  • Verbal insults
  • Physical attacks
I am going to show you real life stories that are related to the 3 focused groups above:

Cyber bullying: Luke's story

Cyber bullying is very common now in this generation, you could almost say it's the nature of you teens. You either have a smart phone, a tablet or a computer/ laptop.
Fully 95% of teens are online. Cyber bullying is more common now because some of you guys can hide behind their computer screens and this can lead to anonymous comments being made.

Cyber bullying is almost like a virus it's carried by its victims who are passing on the illness and many people are affected by it. Here is a video for more further explanation on the cyber bullying virus.

Verbal insults: Jada

Have you ever hard the phrase "Sticks and stones may brake my bones but words can never hurt me." Yes, sticks and stones may hurt you but hurtful meaningless words can do the exact same. Bullies can continuously break you with hurtful words that can make you feel ashamed and unwanted. But stay strong! Once the bullies see that your head is held high and you have a big smile on your face THEY would feel like the losers.

Physical bullying: Rose

http://www.stampoutbullying.co.uk/stories/Rose

Physical bullying can consist of fighting, steeling, sexual harassment. If you are suffering from ANY of these let it stop today because you do not have to be treated like rubbish from another person. Cuts, bruises, being sad or depressed is not the way you or your friend should be living. Isn't it?

You may think that celebs who are very successful now have never bullied and haven't been treated as rubbish. Well, think again. Some of them had a hard time like you. And do you think that got them in the way of achieving their dreams. No. They didn't let the bully/ bullies win and take over their life. So maybe think about your future and don't let your dreams of maybe becoming a footballer/ singer/ actress/ doctor etc. slide away. You're the author of your life, not your bullies.

Here are some celebrities who have been bullied;
  • Eminem
  • Vanessa Hugeness
  • Demi Lovato
  • Taylor Swift
  • Robert Pattinson
  • Selena Gomez
  • Miley Cyrus
  • Rebecca Black
  • Megan Fox
  • Emma Watson
  • Prince Harry Windsor
  • Chris Rock
  • Kristen Stewart
  • Lady Gaga
  • Tyra Banks
  • Taylor Lautner
  • Justin Timerlake
  • Kate Middleton
  • Daniel Radcliffe
These celebrities were all bullied and they probably have similar stories to you. Click this link below to read more about these celebs bullying experiences:

What is bullying?

Bullying can be repeat verbal insultsphysical attacks and social bullying (cyber bullying).
You may have heard of these before but have you taken any interest in them? Bullying also consists of harassing someone, intimidating them basically making them do horrible things that they don't want to do or don't want you to do.

Did you know that bullies can be in groups of many people, not just on person. Meaning that bullies can be a group of lets say 5, 7 maybe even 10 people bullying just one person.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • 69% of children in the UK are being bullied
  • 87% of parents report that their child had been bullied
  • 20% report bullying others
  • 85% had witnessed bullying
You cannot believe the facts right? Well all of this is true sadly.
